Celestine

Strontium sulphate, SrSO4, a mineral closely related to barite.

Celestine (also called celestite) belongs to the same mineral group as barite. Barite and celestine form a solid solution, written (Ba,Sr)SO4, which means strontium can take the place of some of the barium in the crystal.

This is why barite analyses often report a small amount of strontium, as SrO. Our typical raw material contains about 2.00% SrO.
