Strict quality control throughout production gives our customers the same product, batch after batch. Every test is carried out to international standards, on equipment calibrated and verified by accredited organisations.
It starts at the mine.
We take samples at our mine sites and analyse them by XRF (X-ray fluorescence spectrometry). Knowing the purity and oxide content of the ore lets us process the right raw material for each customer.
What XRF tells us
Barium sulphate purity, plus the content of eight oxides.

Then the finished product.
Processed barite goes through a second round of tests in our laboratory.
Colour
X-Rite 7000
Whiteness (RY), yellowness index (YI), brightness (WI CIE) and L*a*b* colour values, measured with high precision.
Physical
Laboratory tests
Moisture content, oil absorption, ash, solid density, bulk density and sieve analysis.
